Meriden, Connecticut, United States (On-Site) Description: Dermatopathology Laboratory of New England, P.C. is an academically-oriented private dermatopathology laboratory. Our full-time dermatopathologists are Philip Shapiro, M.D., who founded the practice 28 years ago, and Alicia Sigal, M.D., who joined 14 years ago and is the co-director. Our part-time dermatopathologist is Jonathan Zirn, M.D., who has been with the laboratory for 23 years and primarily works as a dermatologist at another practice. We are seeking a 4th dermatopathologist for a full-time or part-time position, with the option of practicing clinical dermatology if desired. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality care in a pleasant environment. As a physician-owned practice, we are fortunate to be in charge of decision-making when it comes to diagnostic as well as administrative issues, and we value our excellent camaraderie. We also love living in Connecticut, and because or lab is centrally located, short commutes are possible whether you choose rural, suburban, or city living, and the proximity to many excellent colleges, large cities (New York and Boston), shoreline, lakes, and ski areas provide ample opportunity for excellent cultural attractions and recreation. Board-certification (or eligibility) in dermatopathology is required. Although experience practicing dermatopathology is preferable, we will also consider highly-qualified candidates who are currently in fellowship.
