MEET THE WDS STAFF
KRIS HASKIN | Executive Director
Kris joined the Women’s Dermatologic Society in July 2019 as Executive Director. Kris has worked in the nonprofit field with medical associations for over 20 years. She has volunteered for a variety of nonprofit organizations as well as within her sorority where she currently serves as the Foundation President.
Kris has both her Bachelors and Masters from Eastern Illinois University with a concentration in political science. Kris enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends outside of work.
HEATHER LESKO | Communications Manager
Heather joined the Women’s Dermatologic Society in June 2018 as the Communications Manager. Before joining WDS, Heather focused on strategic creative and technical projects as a Marketing Communication Specialist, Art Director, and Multimedia Consultant. She has international teaching experience and has volunteered for multiple nonprofits focusing on public relations, marketing, and research.
Heather graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison with a B.A. in Journalism – Strategic Communication focusing on marketing and public relations. When she is not getting lost in the local library, she enjoys filling up her passport and exploring state parks.
MAGGIE MACGILLIS | Meetings Manager
Maggie joined the Women’s Dermatologic Society in October 2019 as the Meetings Manager. Prior to joining WDS, Maggie worked for 12 years in conference centers in both Madison, WI and Chapel Hill, NC. Her focus was on social events such as weddings, dinner meetings, and holiday parties. She also had the responsibly for wait staff as the catering manager for these events.
Maggie graduated from Mount Mary University with a BA in History. In addition to spending time with her black lab puppy, Maggie enjoys spending time and spoiling her 8 nieces and nephews!
MARY BAIERL | Membership Manager
Mary joined the Women’s Dermatologic Society in November 2019 as Membership Manager. Before joining WDS, she has worked in youth development non-profits and in the field of wellness in Missouri and Wisconsin. She has facilitated growth and increased participation in the non-profits where she has served.
Mary graduated from Marquette University with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, volunteering at her community garden, and playing the latest board games.
AMBER ASCHER | Program and Administration Manager
Amber joined the Women’s Dermatologic Society in March 2020 as the Program and Administrative Manager. Prior to joining the WDS team, Amber coordinated community and volunteer programs in an economic-development non-profit organization. She also has Human Resources experience in recruitment, benefits administration, and strategic planning.
Amber graduated from Concordia University with a degree in Human Resources Management. Outside of work, Amber enjoys exploring Wisconsin’s unique towns and state parks, antiquing, camping, and gardening.
