Mentorship
Mentorship is a cornerstone of the WDS experience. Through our formal Mentor Program and informal networking opportunities, members can serve as mentors or mentees—sharing knowledge, building confidence, and growing together. Whether you're early in your career or a seasoned leader, WDS fosters meaningful mentoring relationships that support professional and personal development.

Community Service and Public Outreach
WDS offers many ways to serve the organization and the specialty. Members can take active roles on committees and task forces, contribute to strategic initiatives, and engage in outreach. Service is a powerful way to give back, develop leadership skills, and help shape the future of dermatology.

WDS members are passionate about making a difference beyond the clinic. Our outreach programs bring skin cancer prevention and sun safety education to schools, communities, and underserved populations across the country. Members are encouraged—and equipped—to lead grassroots events locally, with support from WDS resources and toolkits.

Networking
Building strong professional connections is vital across all career paths—academia, private practice, industry, and beyond. WDS hosts in-person and virtual networking events throughout the year, offering members the chance to exchange ideas, share experiences, and explore opportunities in career advancement and practice development.
