Desai, MD as the WDS 2026 Legacy Honoree. About Dr. DesaiThe WDS selects honorees based upon overall contributions to the field of dermatology, the support of women in the field, and overall connection to the industry. This year’s recipient, Dr. Seemal Desai, is a Board-Certified Dermatologist, Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, and a nationally recognized leader in the field. Founder & Medical Director of Innovative Dermatology in Dallas and Clinical Associate Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. Desai is a prolific author and international speaker, he has published hundreds of papers and delivered more than 150 lectures worldwide A dedicated advocate and mentor, Dr. Desai has held leadership roles across major dermatology organizations. He is the youngest-ever President of the American Academy of Dermatology, Past President of the Skin of Color Society, Texas Dermatological Society, and Dallas/Ft. Worth Dermatological Society, and currently serves as President of the Global Vitiligo Foundation. He also contributes nationally through his appointment to the FDA’s Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee. Read his complete biography here.
