Greetings to all of the men and women who are part of our Women’s Dermatologic Society. I have five items to cover in this edition.

First, I wish to send kudos to the hard working committee of the WDS/ASDS Women Derm Surgeons Committee for their marvelously successful luncheon held in New Orleans. Drs. Roberta Sengelmann, Sarah Weitzul, Susan Weinkle, and Ferndale’s Mark Lemko made everything happen so well. There was standing room only for the luncheon, and a good time was enjoyed by one and all. See page 12 for a summary of the event.

Second, our 2002 financial audit was very thorough and complete. We are in sound shape financially under the guidance of Drs. Elizabeth McBurney and Gloria Graham.

Third, the plans for our Annual Luncheon are well underway. It will be in the Independence Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt. Maureen Orth, a writer from Vanity Fair will be our speaker. Drs. Tina Alster and Sandra Read, with their committee, are on top of all the arrangements. See pages 14-15 for all the details.

Fourth, our fundraising committee under the guidance of Drs. Lenore Kakita and Susan Weinkle is the most successful ever. We should continue to be able to fund many mentorship and career development awards as well as bring many new services to our members.

Fifth, be sure to save the date for our Member Renewal Retreat June 18-20, 2004. See pages 10-11 for all the details. It will be a marvelous experience for all who can come.

Happy Holidays!.

Marianne Nelson O’Donoghue, MD
WDS President
