- Ron Moy, MD has been elected President-elect of the American Academy of Dermatology.
- Suzanne Connolly, MD, WDS Immediate Past President, was elected to position of AAD Vice President-elect.
- Rashmi Sarkar, MD, MNAMS, has been the founder/editor of Asian Pigment Bulletin, the official news bulletin of the Asian Society of Pigment Cell Research since 2006, a sister society of International Pigment Cell Society. In 2008, she was also the first Indian woman to receive the prestigious Maria Duran Fellowship awarded by the International Society of Dermatology. She attended the 32nd Annual Convention of Philippine Dermatologic Society in Pasay City, Philippines and presented a poster.
- Joyce Fox, MD now serves as Department head of Cedars-Sinai Medical Group and Clinical head of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Division of Dermatology, Los Angeles.
- Linda Wong, MD, Regional Dermatology Chief of Southern California Kaiser Permanente, serves on the Board of Directors for the California Dermatologic Society.
- Vic Narurkar, MD was named Chairman of Dermatology for California Pacific Hospital, San Francisco.
- Tania Cestari, MD, PhD is the new Head of the Sector of Dermatology of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre City — one of the most active dermatology sectors in Brazil.
- Newly elected American Dermatological Association members from WDS include: Murad Alam, MD, Valerie Callender, MD, Suephy Chen, MD, Roselyn Epps, MD, Jenny Kim, MD, Mary Lupo, MD, Seth Matarasso, MD
and Marta Petersen, MD.
