  • Alexa Kimball, MD, Dedee Murrell, MD and Sabra Sullivan, MD were inducted as members of the American Dermatological Association at the Annual Meeting this summer in Asheville, North Carolina.
  • Vibhu Mendiratta, MD, full-time professor of dermatology at Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, India, was awarded the prestigious Commonwealth Fellowship by the Commonwealth Commission for the year 2007-2008. She also completed a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at the Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, and is the first woman dermatologist in India to receive this award in the field of Pediatric Dermatology.
  • Vangee Handog, MD, was recently named Chair of the Department of Dermatology at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Manila, PI.
  • Dedee Murrell, MD was recently promoted to full Professor at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, becoming the first woman dermatologist to reach this rank in Australia.
  • Tami Cassis, MD was recently appointed by the Governor of Kentucky to the State Medical Licensure Board.
  • Roselyn E. Epps, M.D., FAAP, FAAD was recently installed as the 2008-2009, President of the Washington D.C. Dermatological Society. Dr. Epps is Chief of Dermatology at Children’s National Medical Center in D.C. and has a private dermatology practice in Silver Spring, MD. She has academic appointments at George Washington University and Howard University medical schools.
  • Lorraine Young, MD, Associate Clinical Professor and Co-Chief of the Dermatology Clinical Services, UCLA Division of Dermatology, joined the editorial board of the JAAD.
  • Marie-France Demierre, MD, authored a chapter in the newly published book, “Melanoma: Translational Research and Emerging Therapies”, edited by Sanjiv S. Agarwala, MD and Vernon K. Sondak, MD. This book discusses the current state of the art in translational science of melanoma.
