  • Elizabeth I. McBurney, MD and Marianne N. O’Donoughe, MD are the current President and Vice President, respectively, of the American Dermatological Association.
  • Zoe D. Draelos, MD received the DermArts award at the recent American Academy of Dermatology meeting in San Antonio for outstanding contributions to dermatology. The award is sponsored by Doak.
  • Fran J. Storrs, MD received the American Academy of Dermatology’s Gold Medal. The Gold Medal is presented in recognition of outstanding and exceptional service to the specialty of dermatology and substantial impact on the future of the science, teaching and practice of cutaneous medicine. In addition, the award honors an outstanding and exceptional contribution to the administrative aspects of the specialty – nationally or internationally. Gold Medal honorees also are accorded honorary membership in the Academy in recognition of their dedication and life-long commitment to the Academy and its mission.
  • Jean Bolognia, MD, Joseph L. Jorizzo, MD and Ronald Rapini, MD released the second edition of their very popular textbook, Dermatology.
  • Anne E. Burdick, MD, MPH is the recipient of the 2007 Program for Innovative Continuing Medical Education in Dermatology grant for the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine interactive lectures series to academic centers, hospitals and remote medical sites in Latin America, Alaska, Hawaii and Guam using video conferencing.
  • Wilma Bergfeld, MD received the Maria Duran Medal from the International Society of Dermatology
