Each individual will receive an award of $2000.00 in order to help defray the costs of attending the WDS Annual Luncheon and the annual AAD meeting in Washington, DC, in March 2001.

Dr. Marie Eleanore O. Nicolas
Pasay City, Philippines

Dr. Nicolas is a Diplomate of the Philippine Dermatologic Society (PDS) having passed her sub specialty board examination in Dermatology in 1999. In August 2000, she began an un-funded clinical fellowship in pediatric dermatology at the University of Toronto. Her letter of recommendation noted that only two other members of the PDS have received advanced training in pediatric dermatology.


Dr. Janet C. de Grano
Paranaque City, Philippines

Dr. de Grano is a Diplomate of the Philippine Dermatologic Society and also passed her sub specialty board examination in Dermatology in 1999. She practices in the province of Batangas and is the only dermatologist at St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center, a tertiary rural hospital.

Members of the International Affairs Committee are Drs. Jean Bolognia, Chair, Hilary Baldwin, Ulrike Blume- Peytavi, Jeffrey Callen, Sandra Read, and Antonella Tosti.
