Membership Enrichment & Leadership Development Forum (MELD)

The MELD weekend kicked off on Friday evening with a Welcome Reception where attendees networked and got better know each other. Some rose with the sun and participated in sunrise yoga with a session about Moving into Mindfulness. We welcomed keynote speaker, Marsheila DeVan, Communication Specialist, who presented “It’s How You Say It; Patients and/or Colleagues”. In the afternoon, the group heard from Drs. Mary Maloney and Riley McLean about Time Management Issues in their session “I Know How She Does It” and Dr. Jenny Murase gave an Update in Women’s Health as it Pertains to Dermatology.  After a long day of thought-provoking sessions we got our leis and grass skirts on for a Hula Lesson!

The weekend wrapped up on Sunday with three very audience engaging sessions on Developing Resiliency for Wellbeing and Professional and Personal Growth, Female Leadership, and Can I Really Ask that Question to my Friends in WDS, which provided and open forum for members to submit questions they might not be comfortable asking their peers otherwise. New in 2018, the WDS was excited to offer the opportunity for physicians to claim CME Credits for the MELD Forum Sessions.

Thank you to the MELD Planning Task Force Chair, Dr. Kathleen Hectorne and the planning committee members Drs. Seemal Desai, Alison Ehrlich, Lisa A. Garner, Heather Goff, Kachiu Lee, Neil Sadick, and Lucille White.
