Our keynote speaker is Deborah Tannen, best-selling author of You’re Wearing That?: Understanding Mothers and Daughters in Conversation.

Conversations between mothers and daughters - they are the best of conversations, they are the worst of conversations. Tannen focuses on mother-adult daughter communication, asking why these relationships are so fraught and what daughters and mothers can do to make their conversations--and their relationships--better.

Caring about someone as much as you care about yourself, and the critical eye that comes with it, are two strands that cannot be separated. Both engender a passion that makes the mother-daughter relationship perilous -- and precious.
