2011 SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Listed below are programs for which the WDS seeks sponsorship in 2011. Corporations that have previously supported a WDS program or event will be given the first right of refusal for that sponsorship. WDS AWARDS

Academic Research Award - supported by Ortho Dermatologics
The WDS Academic Research Award provides funding for residents and early-career dermatologists with research grants intended to focus on both women and men's health issues.


Career & Community Development Award - supported by Galderma Laboratories
The Career & Community Development Award provides WDS members with opportunities to enhance their career development through participating in hands-on training and education.


International Travel Award - supported by MaryKay, Inc.
The International Travel Award provides support for international women dermatologists to attend the WDS Annual Meeting & Luncheon and the AAD Annual Meeting. These awards are provided to international dermatologists who demonstrate financial need.

Mentorship Awards - supported by Dermik, A business of sanofi-aventis U.S. LLC
The WDS Mentorship Awards Program promotes the concept of mentorship within the WDS by establishing long-term relationships between mentors and the mentee. The program helps develop leadership potential in candidates who have shown early promise through exceptional activities.


NETWORKING EVENTS
WDS networking events encourages and supports women to maximize their personal and professional potential by meeting and networking with their colleagues.

Networking Luncheons
The WDS Networking Luncheons provide an opportunity for WDS members to network while attending other dermatology societies meetings. These luncheons serve as a perfect opportunity to meet WDS members in an intimate setting.

WDS International Leadership Development Forum at the 22nd World Congress of Dermatology

The WDS International Leadership Development Forum is hosted by the WDS International Affairs Committee in-conjunction with the World Congress. The Forum will attract more than 100 leading dermatologists from around the world to Seoul, for this amazing opportunity.

The Member Renewal & Development Forum provides a unique opportunity for members to learn and relax with colleagues and friends.

2011 WDS Mid-Year Meeting
Dates: August 3-7
Location: Hilton New York, New York, NY

The WDS Mid-Year meeting gives the WDS members a chance to meet and great during the AAD Summer meeting. Sponsors will have the opportunity to meet with the WDS members.

The mission of the Women's Dermatologic Society is to help women in dermatology realize and fulfill their greatest potential by striving to:

  • Identify, train, and recognize women leaders in dermatology;
  • Provide a forum for developing relationships through mentoring and building of coalitions;
  • Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and research relevant to women's issues;
  • Promote the highest possible standards of ethics, support of research, patient care, patient education and public education.
