WDS Announces Executive Director, Inc. (EDI) as Their New Management Company

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Women's Dermatologic Society (WDS), I’m writing to you with a piece of exciting news. After much deliberation and an extensive search, WDS has elected to retain a new management company to partner with our Society.

While a change of this scale entails a significant commitment of time, attention and resources, the Board believes it is essential in order to advance the strategic goals of WDS. To that end, we have retained the services of Executive Director, Incorporated, or EDI.

EDI was founded in 1962, and currently has a staff of 185 professionals serving over 30 national and global societies with a focus on medical, health and scientific associations. EDI specializes and is preeminent in the field of medical society management. EDI came highly recommended by volunteer leaders of the associations it manages and has an impressive record of success assisting its clients in achieving their strategic goals.

EDI’s President Kay Whalen, MBA, CAE will serve as the Consulting Partner to WDS and our Executive Director will be Missy Zagroba. Ms. Zagroba has served the Clinical Immunology Society (CIS) during her tenure with EDI.  Maggie Gruennert will work with the Service Committee, the annual meeting and legacy celebration.  Erin Lackovic will work in the PR, social media, website and membership areas.

As I mentioned earlier, this decision was not made lightly and the process used in selecting new management was systematic and careful. Needless to say, the process required a great commitment on the part of our search committee. I want to acknowledge and thank Drs. Hebert, McBurney, Fickenscher, Mathes, Bolognia, Hickman, Olbricht, Drake, Grimes, Hooper, Sadick, Callender, Bergfeld and the entire WDS Board for their time and dedication in bringing the search process to a successful conclusion.

I also want to thank Donna Colavita, Deidra Eberle, Beth Frye and the entire administrative staff at Talley Management Group for their service and their commitment to a smooth transition. We greatly appreciate the hard work and the guidance that they have provided to WDS.

In conclusion, while this is a significant step for the organization, I am convinced it is one that will advance WDS and the important work we do as a Society.

I appreciate your patience and support as the transition goes forward. We will be asking for member input on some of our new initiatives, so stay tuned for updates.
